Houston-first community resource network in development.

Help build Purpose Link

Purpose Link is a Houston-first public initiative in formation. It is for residents, social workers, teachers, churches, nonprofits, navigators, and community organizations. It is not currently a 501(c)(3), registered charity, emergency service, or tax-deductible donation recipient.

A question about the right door

“Purpose Link began with a question: why should someone under stress have to understand the system before the system can help them?

Some of the avenues this project is designed to connect are avenues I have had to traverse myself. I know what it means to move through unstable systems, to keep carrying responsibility when there is no clean handoff, and to search for the next right door without a map. I do not tell that story to place myself above the people this work serves. I tell it because it is why I understand this problem as operational, human, and real.

I’ve spent much of my life adapting to unstable systems. Now I’m intentionally building stable ones.

Purpose Link is my attempt to turn that experience into something useful in public: a Houston-first network that helps residents, teachers, social workers, churches, nonprofits, navigators, and community organizations find the next step and keep the path current.

A person under stress should not need to understand Houston’s service bureaucracy before Houston can help them.

Purpose Link does not promise that help exists when it does not. It promises to make the help that does exist easier to find, understand, reach, verify, and traverse—and to reveal where the network itself has gaps.

I am not building this as a replacement for the people already serving the community. I am building it so their work is easier to find, easier to continue, and easier to connect to. The next step is not for one person to finish this alone. It is for the right community, governance, provider, education, and funding partners to help make it real.”
